Hi, I'm Eliza!

Hi! I'm Eliza. I'm the horse crazy, dog crazy, cat crazy, overall animal crazy illustrator behind Eliza Illustrates. Throughout my whole life I have loved painting and animals, so it only seemed fitting that I would grow up to be a pet portrait artist someday.

My background is in commercial illustration. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019 with my Bachelor's Degree in Illustration with a focus in Publication Design. 

I do have pets of my own! My husband and I have two dogs, three cats, two cows, a donkey, and a whole lot of chickens. We also have a horse named Yammi and a horse named Cody, who is the cutie here!

I get lots of questions about my signature/logo. When I was in Kindergarten I was always drawing, and luckily my mother was sentimental enough to keep all of those drawings. At 6 years old, I signed every single piece of paper I put a crayon to, and the "Eliza" that you see in my logo is exactly how I signed my name. I never want to lose the child in me, or the love of painting and art that I had then. Now every time I have to sign my name I am reminded of that child deep down that loves art for the sake of making art.
